This is an excellent textbook for anyone taking an introductory graduate level Environmental Engineering course. For what the professor doesn't mention in the lecture, the textbook will give you. Also, the authors have a creative way of presenting the material, not to mention a sense of humor. I highly recommend this textbook. Oh, did I mention I used this textbook for a graduate level introductory envr. engr. course, and I'm not even an engineer. Awesome text,... if that's possible?!

useful info, hard to navigate

This book definitely contains useful information, however I was extremely annoyed whenever I had to use it because there is no chapter indicator on any of the pages. I'll be working on one of the end of chapter problems, want to look something up, and instead of being able to easily flip back to the beginning of the chapter you almost have to look it up in the table of contents because it's impossible to tell where in the chapter you are due to lack of labeling. Very, very irritating and time consuming.

Yes, this is the international version, but there is no difference between this and the hardcover. All page numbers, units, and sample problems are exactly the same. I own both versions and it is definitely worth the savings to get the paperback.

A lot to take in.

I thought the book was ok, but I felt it could've ended long before it did. There was a lot of unnecessary drama, and in my opinion, half fleshed out storylines that just made the book longer than it had to be. Some things, like Brandon's PTSD, served no purpose and it got some story time, while Kanielle's father, which was a big issue for her, was never truly resolved in my opinion. I would've much rather seen a meeting between them play out than the other nonsense. The characters, those of which were supposed to be, were likable and dynamic, though I had a tough time with Brandon. The writing was a bit everywhere at some points, but overall wasn't bad. As I've come to expect with every Ancelli novel, the two main characters went through more than their fair share of trials and tribulations and came out better for it in the end. Ancelli is still a growing writer who has made strides in her craft, but I think can still learn that less is sometimes more. However, I give her all the credit in the world for coming up with an original storyline and even more credit for the hero not being a billionaire.

Awesome book

What a story. I anxiously waited for this story. The summary grabbed my attention and held it. Brandon and Kanie went through a lot before they got their happily ever after. Their individual ex-spouses were a pain to deal with. As the saying goes, miracles often come out of mistakes. Fabulous story telling, great character development and minimum grammatical errors. I would highly recommend this story. Bravo to the author. Keep up the good work.

Mixed Perfectly

I was given an ARC for an honest review. What can I say about this author other than she writes about real life emotional issues that couples face in their relationships. This book is about so many different emotions and central is the emotion of a love that is all healing. In this book we meet two different couples trying to get pregnant after many miscarriages and the last chance for each. We meet Robert and Kanielle and Maggie and Brandon. These couples are different in many ways but same in their quest for a child. There are ulterior motives thrown in by some in the story. The reader goes through the ups and downs with an outcome that no one expected. I highly recommend this emotional read

Since the shape of the book remains the same, the layout and pictures are intact. The glossary is gone, but it will not be missed at this age level. The brilliant colors look even more vibrant on the glossy, laminated pages, though the illustrations lose some of their graphic punch when reduced in size. Wanted to Love it

I love this book but my kids don't. I like whole idea, the quirky illustrations, and the unusual fruits and vegetables included. However, this is not really a good teaching tool because the illustrations aren't always recognizable and it isn't a subject that toddlers find fun or interesting. My kids never pick this book to read. In the end, it matters what they think even if I really enjoyed it.

Excellent illustrations and informative book for children of all ages

My children love this colorful book, Eating the Alphabet, by Lois Ehlert. This book helps to educate children about the different fruits and vegetables for every letter of the alphabet. It has inspired my children to want to try new fruits and vegetables that they've never had before. We have also been able to identify fruits and vegetables in the produce section at the grocery store that we might have once overlooked. One of my daughters actually requested Brussels sprouts after reading this book for the first time. We made them, and while she didn't love them the first time she had them, she was proud to say that she tried them. After having eaten them many times now, she likes them, and I have to say we probably never would have tried Brussels sprouts in the first place if it wasn't for this book!
We love the artwork of Lois Ehlert and the bright, bold colors she uses. She makes everything look appetizing and as a result will encourage children I'm sure to try more fruits and vegetables!

A yummy book--- sure to please your baby's palate

My little guy loves this book!! We eat lots of fruits and vegetables as a family, so it was so nice to find a book with so many of them- even a few really unusual ones I've never eaten: gooseberry, huckleberry, kohlrabi, quince, and vegetable marrow, for instance. The illustrations are bright and colorful, but still true to what the food actually looks like. Some of the letters have more space devoted to them. "P" has two, two page spreads. Most of the letters have one to two pages, though. There isn't a storyline here, but with so many fun colors and shapes, there is plenty to look at and enjoy as you flip through the pages.

We have fun saying the letter names on each page as we read through the book, and also making the letter sounds, and then talking about which vegetables have that sound at the beginning of their name. That doesn't work when it comes to "J", though. The foods there are "Jalapeno" and "Jicama"..."h" sounds.

All in all, a very satisfying book for my little one. He liked it at 3 months, and still loves it at 9 months.
